Welcome to the Faculty of Dentistry at Sudan International University. Our Faculty will be one of the best dental faculties in Sudan. It has a strong programmed of clinical training.

Our Undergraduate Dental Program is innovative and dynamic, reflecting the minds of our outstanding professors and their vision for training tomorrow’s leaders in oral health care. First and foremost, we want our graduates to be professionals who possess sound judgment. We believe this is the best way to ensure that their patients, and the population at large, receive the most effective care possible – that means health care that is supported by scientific evidence and a sense of social justice.
To attain this goal, we have created a curriculum that employs cutting-edge approaches to the management of oral health problems, as well as innovative teaching and learning techniques. It focuses on the relationship between oral health and general health. In other words, we strive to understand what the health of a single individual can tell us about society as a whole, all with a view to addressing the enormous disparities in oral and general health that exist in society today.
Goals of the Programme:
The primary goals of the Faculty of Dentistry are to be recognized nationally and internationally and to be the leader of academic excellence in the areas of oral health education, training and practice.
-To pursue excellence in research, both basic and applied, in which the encouragement of individual endeavors is complemented by the development of productive collaborative research groups both within the Faculty and internationally.
- To provide an environment, accessible to all sectors of the community, for the provision of the highest quality undergraduate and postgraduate education and training in the disciplines of Dentistry, Dental assisting and dental technology in cooperation with Faculty of Medicine.
- To provide clinical expertise, consultative advice and first-class clinical services to, nationally, and - in some disciplines - internationally.
Main Features of the Programme:
The curriculum is concerned with providing the dental students with a sense of responsibility towards the patient and society which is lacking in dental education in many developing countries.
- The curriculum is based on community and public health, to reflect the dental problems of the country.
- Clinical relevance is emphasized throughout the course. Early clinical experience is introduced to the students during their study of basic medical & dental sciences.
- Joint teaching by different departments is planned to ensure effective integration and holistic approach to teaching of dentistry.
On successful completion of the BDS programme, the dental graduate will:
- Understand the scientific foundations of dentistry, and will apply that understanding to the practice of dentistry.
- Master the core clinical skills needed to evaluate and care for patients. This includes:
- Obtain relevant and adequate medical history, perform appropriate physical examination, use diagnostic tests appropriately and synthesize the information to formulate a differential diagnosis.
- Use his/her knowledge, skills, clinical judgment and the scientific method to formulate a plan of management.
- Recognize and institute initial treatment for patients with life-threatening emergencies;
- Work collaboratively as a member of health care teams to offer the patient the best multi-disciplinary care.
- Understand the importance of disease prevention and acquire the ability to formulate strategies for promoting health and preventing illness.
- Develop the capacity for life-long learning including use of information technology and ability to critically evaluate the medical literature.
- Treat patients with compassion and respect, maintain integrity and high moral conduct and adhere to ethical principles.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and abilities.
- Know how to critically appraise the scientific and clinical evidence that underlies the best approaches to the treatment and care of individuals and populations and contribute to scientific and medical research.
Listen to and communicate effectively with patients, patients' families, colleagues and others who contribute to health care delivery, in both written records and in oral communication.
Assessment & Evaluation:
The Faculty of dentistry at Sudan International University (SIU) runs a five-year BDS program, divided into 10 semesters, of approximately 16 weeks each.
the Admission requirements are the following:
The candidate should pass at least seven subjects The high school certificate, ( Mathematics , English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and any other two subjects).
Candidates have to pass all Subjects that mentioned above, the pass Degree for subject is minimum ( D ) or over.
The candidate's Bsc certificate should be authenticated from the high education ministry.
your certificate should meets the requirements above and also should be authenticated from Higher Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.
You can complete your Application procedures through the University Building.
